Snuck my entry in very last minute for the White Chalk Hills UCX ride. Fingers cross I get in and get to spend a day getting muddy cycling cross country round the South Downs up and down the local bostals.
Flights booked for visiting Rosie’s parents in South Africa next year and going to be riding the Cape Argus race hopefully and rolling round plenty of roads. Plenty of map exploring this evening. Photo shamelessly stolen from google.
Pay day today means all the hard graft the last 6 weeks has finally turned into positive little numbers in my bank account for the first time in a long time. I’ve just spoken to TBA to get my welding kit on order. Little steps but it’s all coming together.
I’ve read so much of The Boys comics the last few days that I feel like I should be out beating up super heroes. It’s almost as bad as the time I watched The Wire solidly and got confused as to why everyone in Eastbourne didn’t have Baltimore accents.
Fully stripped and cleaned my group set and wheels on my bike as well as my cleats after being lazy all year and then putting it through all kinds of nastiness cycling round France for a week. It feels like a whole new bike and riding home this afternoon in the sun with @ofwintercreepingup was great. Little things!
So someone cancelled annual leave later this year which means Don and I are next in line for holiday and now have two weeks off cycling. Norway is happening in less than 8 weeks soon as we book tickets! Tents, sleeping bags, cabins and mountains all the way. So stoked!
